Disney+ premiered the trailer for Lucasfilm's new original series, Star Wars: The Acolyte, last night. The fascinating live-action series debuts on June 5 in Romania, with two episodes.
“Star Wars: The Acolyte,” an investigation into a series of shocking attacks brings a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) face to face with a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As they uncover clues, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces prove that all is not what it seems.
The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Leslye Headland created the series, based on the Star Wars saga by George Lucas, and is executive producing alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim and Rob Bredow are the series producers. Headland also directed the first few episodes (Eps. 101 and 102). Working alongside him were directors Kogonada (episodes 103 and 107), Alex Garcia Lopez (episodes 104 and 105) and Hanelle Culpepper (episodes 106 and 108).
Award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on “Get Out” and “Us,” scored the series' soundtrack.
