Stephen King's latest volume reached hundreds of Romanians on the day of its international release

The volume of twelve stories from Nemira, published in the Armanda imprint, appeared on May 22 in bookstores in Romania, simultaneously with the international release, and was received on the same day by all Stephen King fans who purchased the book in pre-order.

“Do you like it darker?” in Ruxandra Toma's translation, it is the third volume signed by Stephen King that Nemira Publishing House is launching simultaneously with the edition in the original language, after “Un basm” and “Holly”. With a tribute title dedicated to one of the world's most beloved musicians, Leonard Cohen, the volume “You Like It Darker” contains twelve stories about old age, fate, death, luck and the folds of reality where, secretly, anything can happen. King says that with his supernatural and paranormal stories, “I've specifically tried to show the real world as it is.”

In an interview given to Carmen Florea from Cărturești, on the day of the release, Marian Coman, coordinator of the Armada imprint, says that the title chosen by Stephen King prepares you for the fact that “most stories hide something dark in them, and many of them talk about end, of a kind of waiting for the end”.

The twelve stories offer readers encounters with strange characters who hide unexpected secrets: from silent veterans to young “talented prams”, all victims of fate. They have premonitory dreams that change lives, receive unexpected inheritances, or explore corners of the universe they never imagined existed.

In Romania, there are many Stephen King fans who sign up for the pre-order list every time, whenever a new title by the author is announced. And, as with every international release, all of them received the “Do you like it darker?” volume on May 22, the day of the international release. The book was received with great enthusiasm by readers, social media networks being flooded in the last hours with pictures of the exciting cover signed by Vasile Adnan and words of praise before the reading.

What are King's fans saying? “What do you mean you don't know if you're reading King's newest book? Well, you have a choice, you either “Like it darker” or you end up in my sewers under the city of Derry, where you find red balloons, colorful confetti, the smell of gobs and floating corpses. We're all floating here and it's even darker.” Constantin Boda, reader from the Armada community.

The book is available on the nemira.ro website and in bookstores throughout the country.
