Students from the dormitories in Regie will receive hot water and heat in five days, after two weeks of nightmare

The București Municipal Termoenergetica Company (CMTB) announced that they will supply hot water and heat to the dormitories on the Regie campus in five days. The students stayed for two weeks without these minimum living conditions.

In an answer given to Edupedu.ro, Termoenergetica said that within five days, the students staying in the Regie campus will receive hot water and heat. In the same message, the company explained that the repair work that feeds the dormitories is delayed due to special permits required for access on private property and from the authorities conducting investigations in the area, but did not specify what exactly these investigations consist of.

The five-day deadline could be changed if complications arise during the work. Termoenergetica decided to install a temporary bypass pipeline, which would temporarily replace the damaged route.

“In order to intervene in the heating gallery, which is in the perimeter closed for research, it would be necessary to uncover the roadway, which would make it difficult to complete the works. As a result, it was decided to install a temporary bypass route of this perimeter, with a pipeline of the same diameter”CMTB sent to Edupedu.ro.

The students, staying in the Politehnica Bucharest (UNSTPB) dormitories, have been without hot water since October 9, when a street near the campus collapsed and the underground pipes were affected. The Polytechnic has 13,000 accommodation places spread over the Regie (26 dormitories) and Leu (two dormitories, A and C) campuses.
