Survey almost half of Romanians believe that Romania should remain on the EU side in the US disputes

Romanians appreciate the peace negotiations initiated by Donald Trump with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but do not trust the US president. Confidence in the European Union is 74%.

Only 6% of the respondents of an avant -garde survey have a lot of confidence in Donald Trump, and 16% trust a lot. 21% have very little confidence, and 18% trust the US President, while another 36% did not want to rule clearly, having no confidence or little.

63% of respondents consider a good thing to be the peace discussions between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on Ukraine, but only 39% say that the American leader will push a change for the better, while 21% think he will favor a return to the past and revisionism .

Trust in the EU and NATO

Regarding the political struggles between the US and the EU, 49% of the 1,300 respondents said that Romania should be located in the EU camp. 28% chose the Americans, and 23% opted for the option “I don’t know/don’t answer”.

81% of Romanians agree with Romania’s belonging to NATO, while the European Union benefits from 74%.

Only 21% of Romanians say it would be good for the Deveselu shield to be abolished, while 64% agree to maintaining it.

The research was carried out between February 18-24, on a sample of 1,300 subjects, by the CATI method (telephone). According to Avangarde, the maximum sampling error, at a level of 95%, is +/- 2.3%.

The survey was self -financed, avant -garde being led by the sociologist Marius Pieleanu.
