On Sunday, May 4, Romanians in the country are called to the ballot box to choose the future president, while in the diaspora, the vote entered, on Saturday, May 3, the next day. The question that most of the Romanians ask is who will enter the second round. The latest survey indicates a difference below a percentage point between two and three places.

This is a poll conducted by Nicușor Dan’s team, who shows George Simion (gold) first in the electorate preferences.
The battle for entry into the second round would be between the common candidate of the PNL-PSD-UDMR alliance, Crin Antonescu and the independent Nicușor Dan, which I separate less than a percentage in the same survey.

The survey conducted by Nicușor Dan’s team has an error margin of +/- 3.8%.
What does other recent surveys look like
According to an Atlasintel survey published on Friday by Hotnews, which also covered the period of the three television presidential debates, Simion is credited with 30.2% of the total number of those who responded to the questionnaire.
The common candidate of the PNL-PSD-UDMR Alliance, Crin Antonescu, would be voted by 24.3% of the voters, and Nicușor Dan, of 22.4%. In the fourth place Victor Ponta is included, with 11.3%, and on five, Elena Lasconi, with 6.3%.
The Atlasintel survey (with an error margin of ± 2 %, at a level of 95 %.) Was carried out on a sample of 3,247 respondents, between April 28 – May 1, 2025. The used method was the one of random digital recruitment, having as the universe the electorate in Romania.
The Atlasintel Institute is headed by the Romanian sociologist Andrei Roman.
Another survey conducted by the NGO “NEW, Citizens”, conducted after this week’s electoral debates, which also includes the Diaspora opinions, also indicates George Simion Favorite to qualify in the second round, followed by Nicușor Dan (2nd place), and 6 percent, by Crin Antonescu.
SNDAJULSOCIOPOL (Institute headed by Mirel Palada, a former spokesman in the Ponta government) showed that George Simion and Victor Ponta would lead the race for the supreme function, and Crin Antonescu would rank third, on a draw with Nicușor Dan.
