TAEMIN, member of the legendary group SHINee and one of the most influential K-pop artists of the last two decades, will perform in Romania during K-POP Days NIBIRU, the first festival dedicated to the K-pop community in Romania. The artist will perform between August 1-2, 2026 at NIBIRU Arena, Costinești, at a moment considered defining for the development of the K-pop scene in Romania and Eastern Europe.
The announcement was made on June 1, during a special event organized for the K-pop community in Romania, which brought together over 2,000 participants. The moment marked one of the largest gatherings dedicated to this cultural phenomenon organized so far at the local level and demonstrated the strength of a community that has grown steadily in recent years. The audience’s reaction to the unveiling of the first international artist confirmed for the festival turned the event into a landmark for the K-pop scene in Romania.
Taemin is one of the most popular and influential K-pop artists globally. Known both for his work in SHINee, one of the groups that helped popularize the genre internationally, and for his successful solo career, the artist stood out with a distinct artistic identity, complex performances and a level of performance that turned him into a reference for the entire industry.
Recently, after signing with Galaxy Corporation, one of the most important management and entertainment companies in South Korea, Taemin accelerated his international presence, including his appearance on the stage of Coachella, one of the most important music festivals in the world. His latest single, “PERMISSION”, released on May 22, 2026, marks a new creative stage and confirms the accelerated pace of his artistic activity.
Taemin’s confirmation comes in a context where the K-pop phenomenon continues to expand globally, positioning K-POP Days as one of the most important events dedicated to K-pop culture in Central and Eastern Europe and opening up the possibility of participation for fans from countries such as Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Poland or Greece.
“The K-pop community in Romania has shown in recent years that it is one of the most active and passionate in the region. TAEMIN’s confirmation is the first step in a lineup we are building especially for this community and for the fans who will come from all over Eastern Europe.” – Selly
For the Romanian K-pop community, TAEMIN’s confirmation is one of the most important announcements ever made on the local market. The artist is considered by many to be one of the performers who defined the modern standards of the K-pop industry and influenced generations of artists.
Today, K-pop transcends the status of a musical genre and represents one of the world’s most powerful cultural industries, with artists dominating international charts, generating billions of views and holding sold-out tours on every continent. Beyond music, the phenomenon influences fashion, beauty, social media, education and consumption behaviors of an entire generation.
And in Romania, interest in South Korean culture has grown steadily in recent years. Dedicated communities have become increasingly active, Korean language courses attract an increasing number of participants, K-pop dance competitions and workshops bring together hundreds of young people, and content dedicated to this universe generates millions of views in the digital environment. For many fans, K-pop is no longer just music, but a lifestyle and a community in which they find themselves.
K-POP Days is designed as a festival created by fans, for fans. For two days, NIBIRU will become the focal point of K-pop culture in Romania, bringing together live concerts, themed activations, interactive experiences, community areas and content inspired by South Korean pop culture. The festival is part of the NIBIRU calendar of events for the summer of 2026 and marks the launch of a format dedicated to a cultural segment in an accelerated expansion both in Romania and at the European level.
Subscriptions for 2 days are available from 499 RON for the General Access category and are nominal, non-transferable and non-refundable. The minimum age to participate is 10, and minors between the ages of 10 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
