Teachers from all over the country arrive in the capital. Authorities are on maximum alert

Teachers from pre-university and university education in Romania will show their dissatisfaction with the Government of Romania through a major protest scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025, in the Capital.

The Federation of Free Education Unions (FSLI), the Federation of Education Unions “Spiru Haret” and the National Trade Union Federation “Alma Mater”, on behalf of the union members and of all the employees in the pre -university and university education, will organize tomorrow, September 8, 2025, in Bucharest, in Bucharest, Cotroceni Palace

This protest action is the expression of the deep dissatisfaction of the education personnel from the constant refusal of the government to repeal the provisions of Law 141/2025.

“Not even in the twelfth hour, the Minister of Education, Daniel David, does not recognize the serious problems generated by these hasty decisions made by the Government and asks us to be with them and to build together the future of education. Substitutes qualified without a job, which led to the disappearance of hundreds of educational units? ” transmitted the unionists.

Education employees ask the minister resignation: “Minister, you publicly recognize that you have generated chaos in education and present your resignation!”

Program of protest demonstrations that will take place tomorrow in Bucharest

10:00 – 11:00 – Assembly of participants in Victoriei Square

11:00 – 12:00 – Picheting of the Government of Romania

12:00 – 13:30 – protest march on the route Victoriei Square – Nicolae Titulescu Boulevard – Basarab – Şos. Grozaveşti – Cotroceni Palace

13:30 – 2:30 pm – Cotroceni Palace picketing

14:30 – 16:00 – Participants deflu

The march between Victoriei Square and the Cotroceni Palace will generate long -lasting road blocks

“In this way, we apologize publicly to all the citizens who will be affected by the road blocks generated by our march. We resort to this form of protest as in one last solution, after the exhaustion of all other dialogue and after more than 5 weeks of picketing of the Ministry of Education and Research and the Government of Romania. Thank you in advance for the understanding! ” transmit the trade union leaders.

Civic associations and political formations are forbidden to join teachers at protest

Also, in order to maintain the apolitical and civic character of this protest, the organizers request the civic associations (which have not discussed in advance) and the political formations that want to join the approach not to do so.

“We do not want and we will not allow the legitimate protest of the education employees to be instrumentalized or transformed into a platform for political or other interests. We want our messages and claims to remain clear and unaltered. Our action is a strictly professional approach, which concerns exclusively the rights of the employees in education and the interest of the education system.” warns representatives of dissatisfied teachers.

Last but not least, parents and students are asked by the protest organizers to understand the importance of their struggle and to support them, as the future of the young generations that are formed and will be in the educational system.

“Please do not blame us for this decision to boycott the first day of school. The Government is to blame, which, through the measures taken, showed that it does not care about us, of you, the Romanian school, the future of this country.” they still convey.
