The amendment canceled by the Government in the case of magistrates. Per diem maintained at 300 people “so as not to disrupt activity in the courts”

The new Minister of Finance, Tanczos Barna, explained that maintaining the 2% per diem in the case of magistrates is an exception requested by the Ministry of Justice. However, the number of beneficiaries is limited to 300 people. The per diem would have been reduced by the train ordinance. The measure was applied to other professional categories.

“The 2% per diem was also cut for the parliamentarians, the per diem returned, in all sectors, to that standard that is applied in the entire budgetary system, with the exception of 300 people from the Ministry of Justice system. It was requested from the Ministry of Justice in order not to disrupt the activity in the courts”, explained the Minister of Public Finance in an intervention on Antena 3 CNN.

It is about the per diem granted, according to the law, to judges, prosecutors and the staff assimilated to them and assistant magistrates, who are seconded or delegated to a locality other than their domicile. Per diem is granted during the delegation in the amount of 2% of the monthly gross employment allowance.

Per diem reduction measures were applied in the case of other professional categories, through the train ordinance adopted by the Executive at the end of the year. Initially, the measure was also proposed for magistrates.

The Minister of Finance announced, on Monday, after the government meeting, that seconded magistrates will continue to receive a special per diem, but the number of beneficiaries will be limited to 300 people.
