If you are passionate about food and dream of an authentic culinary experience, there is one European country that should not be missed. Seven of its cities have been designated by “Titan Travel” as the best for those who want to learn to discover local traditions.
Italy is proving to be a paradise for food lovers. According to the study carried out by the travel company, Florence ranks first in the list of ideal cities for cooking classes and exploring Italian gastronomy. The city is not only famous for its art and history, but also for the 231 cooking classes available, 74% of which received ratings of four stars or more, according to express.

The full list of the best Italian cities for foodies also includes Palermo, Bologna, Rome, Venice, Naples and Milan. The major advantage is the proximity between these cities, which allows tourists to visit several locations in a single trip.

For example, Florence and Bologna are only 35 minutes away by train, and Bologna and Venice an hour and a half. Also, the journey between Florence and Rome or between Rome and Naples takes about an hour and a half, and between Milan and Bologna only an hour.
Cassie Strickland, Product Manager at Titan Travel, explains why culinary tourism is gaining popularity.
“Travelers today want to do more than just see the sights. They want to truly experience a destination. Food is a fantastic way to do that because it connects you directly to local life and traditions. Taking a cooking course abroad allows you to do something, learn something and come back with a valuable skill. The most rewarding experiences usually come from local chefs and family kitchens, where not only that you will learn the recipes, but you will also hear the stories behind them.”, Cassie Strickland said.
