The Dominican Juan Soto signed a contract with the New York Mets club of the North American professional baseball league (MLB), for the amount of 765 million dollars and for a period of 15 years.
Baseball, beloved in the USA
It is the biggest contract in the history of sports, the American press announced on Sunday, quoted by EFE.
Soto’s contract is on top of the $700 million, 10-year deal Japan’s Shohei Ohtani signed last year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which was a new sports record.
Soto played last season for the New York Yankees and will become the star of the New York Mets team.
