The Bog’Art Foundation awarded scholarships and Upgrade mentions, worth a total of 10,000 euros, to students who can change the future of Romania for the better

The Bog’Art Foundation has successfully completed the first edition of the scholarship program Upgradethrough which he aimed to discover and support young people with potential, outstanding school results and professional development plans in Romania, capable of actively contributing to the progress of society.

From those 231 applications received from pupils and students from the whole country, 14 qualified for the finals, and, following the interviews, it was decided to award four UPGRADE scholarshipseach worth 2,000 euros, and, exceptionally, a two mentionseach worth 1,000 euros.

Bucur-Sabău Maria-Mirabela
– born in Reghin, currently a student at the Faculty of Medical Engineering in Bucharest. Maria develops modern biomedical devices, sensors and technologies for diagnosis, treatment and research. He plans a master’s degree focused on biomedical sciences and aims to build projects in Romania and, in the long term, a company to develop modern biomedical technologies.

Chiricheș Florentina-Brigita
– she chose to become a Psychology student at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi, out of love for people and a deep desire to contribute to mental health and support vulnerable people. She is currently a master’s student, specializing in Clinical Evaluation, Counseling and Psychotherapy of Couples and Families, and is training as a Systemic Couple and Family Psychotherapist. She wants to continue specializing in psychotherapy and develop psychological support projects, especially an ACA group (Adults Children of Alcoholics), dedicated to young people and adults who grew up in families affected by alcoholism, as happened in her case.

Pora Ana-Maria – born in Broșteni, she is a student at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iași, majoring in Diagnosis and intervention for people with special needs, and a graduate of the Special Psychopedagogy degree program. She wants to major in systemic couple and family therapy and obtain credentials in special pedagogy. He plans to perfect himself in intervention methods and techniques for people with special requirements, but also to be their voice in the public space. Through training and research, he wants to convey to the whole world that people with disabilities are not the sum of the things they cannot do, but the sum of all the wonderful things they can achieve.

Saragea Paula-Denisa – PhD student in the field of neurosciences/neurobiology, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. Researches the therapeutic applicability of selected plant extracts, with multitarget action, in the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease. He independently conducts experiments and tests in the laboratory, has solid academic results, active participation in scientific conferences and is involved in educational projects and volunteer activities in the laboratories of the Regional Institute of Oncology Iași and in the Screening and Diagnostic Center for Oncological Diseases.

Winners of the UPGRADE by Bog’Art Foundation mentions, 2025 edition

Stoian Alexandru-Dragoș
– pianist, student at the National University of Music Bucharest. Winner or finalist at international competitions, he has performed with the Sibiu State Philharmonic, the UNMB Orchestra and the “Ion Dumitrescu” Philharmonic from Râmnicu Vâlcea. The Upgrade Scholarship will help him refurbish his piano, improving his artistic performance and allowing him to focus more on professional and creative development.

She gave birth to Tudor – graduated from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Installation Engineering, and is currently in the first year of his master’s degree. He developed a project that integrated two technologies in an electric boiler: the use of a carbon fiber conductor for heating and phase change materials for thermal energy storage. He wants to expand this research project, experimenting with different constructions and positioning of the two technologies to identify the variant with the greatest energy efficiency.

The premiere of the six winners took place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the headquarters of the Bog’Art Foundation in Bucharest.

About the UPGRADE scholarship program

UPGRADE is an annual scholarship program, initiated by the Bog’Art Foundation, created to support young people with extraordinary potential, between the ages of 16 and 30, enrolled in an educational institution (high school, college, postgraduate studies or doctorate), a vocational school, a trade school or an advanced level sports training program. The goal is to invest in the next generation of professionals, innovators and leaders, capable of actively contributing to the development of Romanian society, regardless of their field of activity.
