The Government of Romania will go, on Monday, September 1, in front of the Parliament to take responsibility for the second package of measures intended to reduce the budget deficit, the common meeting of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate being scheduled at 19:00.

Until Monday morning, at 9:00, parliamentarians can submit amendments to the projects included in the package.

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the Executive has adopted five components of the program, following the measures regarding the public administration to be discussed separately, in a new government meeting that could take place on Sunday, notes AGERPRES.

We remind you that, on August 28, the union of communes and cities in Romania announced that the generals in the country will be entered for an unlimited time, as a form of protest against the massive redundancies of the local administrations provided in the draft law that provides for the system reform.

“All these components are absolutely necessary to put into practice public policies that make us have a healthier state, an efficient state, a state that respects the work”, explained Ilie Bolojan.

On the agenda of the Government meeting on Friday, August 29, were:

– The draft law for the modification and completion of some normative acts in the field of service pensions

– the draft law on the adoption of measures to increase the financial capacity of the administrative-territorial units as well as to modify and supplement some normative acts

– the draft law for amending and completing the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 109/2011 on the corporate governance of public enterprises

– The draft law on the efficiency of the activity of some autonomous administrative authorities

– The draft law on establishing measures in the field of health

– The draft law for establishing measures to recover and streamline public resources and to modify and supplement some normative acts

This is the second major package of reforms promoted by the government to reduce the deficit. For the first set of fiscal-budgetary measures, the Executive assumed liability on July 7, some of the provisions already in force on August 1.

The second package should have been adopted earlier, but was postponed due to the divergences that occurred in the ruling coalition.
