The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) rejected the alliance protocol of USR, PMP and Forța Dreptei, citing that in the case of PMP the legal situation of the leadership was not definitively settled, according to an announcement by USR.

“The United Right Alliance will appeal to the ICCJ the rejection of the alliance protocol by the Central Electoral Bureau“, announced the USR, which categorized the decision as abusive, suggesting that it was taken on the instructions of the Power formations.
“We will go to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and we will fight for our rights and for the future that Romania deserves. We will continue to fight for a Romania without corruption, without abuse and without fear. The fight for a Modern Romania is stronger than ever“, declared Cătălin Drula.
The BEC motivated its decision by the situation in the PMP, where the situation of the management of the formation was not legally resolved definitively.
“Despite the pretext used by the BEC, Eugen Tomac is the legitimate leader of the PMP, elected as early as 2022, with a Congress validated by the Bucharest Court. On February 2, 2024, the same Bucharest Court ordered the office of political parties to register the result of the last PMP congress. An enforceable decision, which is not implemented“, transmit USR and PMP.
PMP, Forţa Dreptei and REPER have no representatives in the Central Electoral Office for the June 9 elections. In the case of PMP, it is all about the legal situation, while regarding Forței Dreptei and REPER, the BEC judges specify that the two formations did not obtain mandates in the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament in 2019.
Who represents the parties
According to the BEC decision, Viorel Mocanu is the PSD representative, Cristian Ene is the PNL representative, Ștefania Petre is the USR representative, while AUR has Laurentiu Plăeșu. Maria Kolumban, from the UDMR, and Bogdan Tohăneanu, from Pro Romania, are also represented in the BEC, while the Minorities Group appointed Ioan Truțer.
