The city that attracts tourists with the “longest bar in the world”

In the city of Düsseldorf, it is the center of the Altstadt, known and nicknamed ‘the longest bar in the world’. On a distance of less than 500 meters, more than 300 bars and restaurants are set up, writes National Geographic.

The area is well-known for altbier, a hoppy beer whose recipe dates back to the 1800s and has become a representative symbol of Düsseldorf. This is prepared in four taverns. And the brewery has 700 seats.

Düsseldorf was founded in 1288 as a fishing village. It developed over the course of the century, becoming an unofficial capital of West Germany, the place’s reputation being associated with aspects such as fashion, finance and art. Currently a reference point for the history of the Altstadt (Old Town), one of the 50 districts.
