The Comper calendar in 2026. When are this year’s exams from stages II and III scheduled

The Comper competitions continue in 2026, from the preparatory class to the 8th. These tests are not affected by the ministerial order that prohibits the organization of national competitions and school olympiads in primary education. Here’s when the 2026 stages are scheduled.

Comper Exam Calendar 2026

If the first stage of Comper took place last December, in 2026 the second stage and the national stage are scheduled. The competition, with free registration, is very popular in schools in Romania. In 2023 and 2024, for example, over 700,000 students from almost 9,000 schools were enrolled in tests, which can be taken in two subjects: Mathematics and Romanian Language. Stage I, of staged summative evaluation, took place after completion of modules 1 and 2 of the structure of the school year. Students who passed the tests in stage I were automatically enrolled in stage II as well.

Stage II

According to the calendar posted on the competition website, the second stage tests are scheduled as follows:

  • Communication/ Romanian Language and Literature – March 24, 2026 (written)
  • Mathematics – 31 March 2026 (written)

The second stage is county-level, summative evaluation after completion of modules 3 and 4

The national stage

The tests in the national stage are scheduled as follows:

  • Communication/ Romanian Language and Literature – June 3, 2026
  • Mathematics – June 10, 2026

At this stage, testing involves the assessment of the material from all five modules.

The organizers of the contest also specify that, depending on the dates of the Olympics and national evaluations, the calendar may undergo changes, but they will notify them in advance.
