The experience of a Romanian vlogger in Israel: he was accused of supporting terrorism

Accused of supporting Palestinian terrorism, after spending a month in Israel and Palestine, presenting both sides of the conflict, vlogger Cosmin Avram claims he was threatened and complained to all possible authorities by “our Romanians, Israeli citizens”.

“The Romanians complained to the police again. This time in Israel, I received a lot of messages, comments, threats. I was reported to the Israeli police, there were letters sent to the Israeli Ministry of the Interior, to the Romanian Embassy in Israel, everywhere, people complained to me. Everywhere they guaranteed me that I would never set foot in that country again. Okay, they told me I’m not going to leave there
” – this is how vlogger Cosmin Avram begins his last clip from Israel.

He spent about a month in Israel and Palestine. He visited both areas and spoke with both Israelis and Palestinians and says he tried to present what he saw as objectively as possible. He was in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, but also in the cities controlled by the Palestinian Authority – Bethlehem and Hebron.

Romanian vlogger accused of supporting terrorism

The main issue for which he was threatened and sued was the vlogs made in the Palestinian territories.

“I tried to be neutral and present things exactly as people see them in both areas. Well, this is where our Romanians intervene, a part of our Romanians who beat their fists in the chest because they are citizens of Israel, because they have Israeli passports. That’s how it will be, I don’t contradict them. Most are over 40 years old. This proves that propaganda in Israel is just as dangerous, quote, as that in Palestine”he specified.

Cosmin did not escape criticism from the other camp either.

“When I put the first balloons in Israel, I was accused by a part of the Palestinians that I agree with the genocide and that I am paid by the Americans. I don’t want to complain, I just want to highlight certain things, because the moment I decided to go to those areas I expected it.

“Nothing compares to the way the Romanians behaved in Israel”

Avram claims he expected mean comments. “I’m used to them, because I was reported to the police in Singapore, in Dubai, in Greece, after the vlogs made in Russia I was reported to the CNA. But nothing compares to the way the Romanians behaved in Israel. Attention, I don’t want to talk about all Romanians, but about a part of them I’m talking about here, only about the Romanians in question, those who cursed me, offended me, threatened me, threatened my family, threatened absolutely anything“, he specified.

Cosmin claimed that the local guides criticized him harshly because “I broke their combinations because I showed the truth from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. In that block I tried to show a little bit of the mafia there and how people are fools with their money, I think it’s always been that way.”

“Very many scams around the Holy Light”

One of the vlogs that disturbed a lot presented the small scams that occur around the so-called holy light in Jerusalem, on the occasion of the Orthodox Easter.

“Unfortunately, a lot of scams around the Holy Light, right here in Jerusalem, I don’t know how to say it to sound nice. Not to sound offensive, but the things that happen here are indescribable. People pay between 80 and 300 euros. I have heard even higher amounts to enter the church at this time, to partake of the Holy Light, although no one guarantees access to the church. Even if you pay 300 euros, no one guarantees that you will enter the church. Things that shocked me for one because I have never seen anything like this being talked about. Nobody talks about these things.”

As for the myth of the holy fire that does not burn, Cosmin reported that he chose the burnt T-shirt: “People fire you up. I light dozens of candles. (..) This is what happens next to the Holy Sepulcher. It smelled like burnt hair everywhere.”

“The moment you try to present the truth, the world jumps into your head”

“The moment you try to present the truth, the world jumps on your head because the truth is hard to accept and people like to live the lie, which is why propaganda works. This term is so well implemented in the minds of a category of people that whatever you say, if you don’t think it is propaganda”the vlogger explained.

On the other hand, Cosmin thanked those who tried to defend him in the comments and who understood what he was doing. “I also want to thank those who chose to be with me in the places in Israel. Romanians too, some with Israeli passports, but with a different mentality, like Paul and his wife, Maricel, who went with us to the Dead Sea, Roxana, an extraordinary person. As proof, Romanians with a different mentality also live in Israel. So it is possible“, concluded the vlogger.

“I am accused of supporting terrorism.” Cosmin’s answer

He also specified the reason why he was reported to the police: “I am accused of supporting terrorism.”

“Your complaints are like crumpled paper thrown down the toilet, flush and that’s it. All these complaints would have worked in North Korea. Surprise, we don’t live there.” claims Cosmin, regarding the complaints against him.
