Petru Lucaci, a “ferocious sexual predator”, as the prosecutors call him, was sentenced to 6 years in prison after drugging and raping a 15-year-old teenager. There are, however, other files in his name in which he is accused of similar acts.
The Alesd Court has issued the first decision in a case in which Petru Lucaci, a 38-year-old man from Bihor, is on trial for the rape of a 15-year-old teenager from Astileu, whom he first drugged. The court established a 6-year prison sentence, after reducing the legal limits as a result of the fact that the sexual predator denounced the dealer from whom he bought the narcotics used for personal use, but also to drug his victims, writes Bihoreanul.
It is about the case from May 2024, when, according to the indictment drawn up by the prosecutors, Petru Lucaci would have approached a 15-year-old minor, from Astileu, whom he first attracted to his yard, and then to a summer kitchen. Once he blocked the door behind them, the man offered the boy a white substance, spread on a 1 leu banknote, which would “help him forget his troubles”.
According to the same source, the teenager would have ingested a small amount of the substance in question, sufficient, however, to immediately affect his control over his own body, at which point, taking advantage of his victim’s condition, the predator would have had sexual relations with her. It was interrupted when a friend of the boy’s knocked on the kitchen door and, in order not to create suspicion, Petru Lucaci opened it, and the teenager, still in a state of confusion, allegedly asked to be taken home, invoking an accentuated state of fatigue.
The local press quotes from the indictment drawn up following the investigation and writes that the prosecutors described Petru Lucaci as having an extremely dangerous sexual predatory behavior, with erotic-sexual inclinations towards minors and a strategy of choosing victims from vulnerable backgrounds, without solid family support or protection mechanisms.
The authorities reported themselves
The investigations in this case were launched ex officio, after the information about the alleged act reached the authorities through an acquaintance of the teenager, because the victim did not initially file a complaint. During the investigation, the 15-year-old was psychologically evaluated, interviewed in detail and forensically examined.

The prosecutors also retained the statements of some witnesses who saw the two together, as well as images captured by surveillance cameras in the area, from which it appears that the minor entered the defendant’s home together with him.
He abused three minor brothers
Petru Lucaci is also on trial in another case, in which he is accused of continued rape, after abusing three orphan brothers aged 10, 12 and 14, during 2020-2021.
In 2020, the case came to light following a call to 112 by a man who had been invited by Petru Lucaci to a sex party “with women” and who, when he arrived at the house where he kept the three orphaned brothers, found that, in fact, it was a 10-year-old girl.
The man immediately left the house and called 112, alerting the authorities, but unfortunately, the investigation was superficial, and the case was closed, which allowed Petru Lucaci to abuse the children for almost another year, until the evening of May 24, 2021, when two of them managed to flee to the village and call an aunt from Sălaj, who immediately notified the authorities.
“The details reported by the minors in that case are downright frightening,” the investigators noted at the time.
Later, the case attracted the attention of the People’s Advocate institution, which got involved in the procedure to represent the interests of the victims. After almost 5 years, the file is still pending, and in the last terms the court even ordered the rehearing of one of the victims, who in the meantime has become an adult.
He failed the polygraph test
Two years later, precisely in November 2023, Petru Lucaci was arrested after drugging three teenage girls aged 15, 16 and 17, whom he then forced to have sexual relations with two of his friends. After only three months, however, at the beginning of 2024, he was released, and soon after, in April, he lured the 15-year-old teenager into the kitchen of his home, drugged him and raped him.
In this last case, looking at the 15-year-old teenager from Astileu, the prosecutors obtained the preventive arrest of the sexual predator. During the investigations, Petru Lucaci requested to take the polygraph test, which he failed, and later, when he was asked to take the test for the other charges as well, he refused.
Instead, feeling cornered, he showed his readiness to denounce the one who procured the narcotics that he consumed, but which he also used to drug his victims.
The court partially took into account this denunciation and this week sentenced Petru Lucaci to the maximum possible punishment under the new reduced limits, namely 6 years in prison, from an initial legal interval of 7 to 12 years.
The decision of the Alesd Court is not final and can be appealed to the Oradea Court of Appeal.
