The first immersive sports class is launched in a school in Bucharest, an educational system that can prevent school dropouts

School dropout and the low degree of inclusion in Romanian schools are two of the important problems of the educational system in Romania, especially in neighborhoods and localities where lack of resources and demotivation directly affect children’s schooling.

School dropout and the low degree of inclusion in Romanian schools are two of the important problems of the educational system in Romania, especially in neighborhoods and localities where lack of resources and demotivation directly affect children’s schooling.

In this context, classic solutions seem to be no longer sufficient, education needs new approaches, adapted to the realities of the present.

In order to come to the aid of the little ones and bring them closer to the school subject, the FDP Association – Protagonisti in education is launching on Thursday, January 30, 2026, in the gym of Secondary School no. 161 from Bucharest, the first immersive sports hour in our country, proposing an innovative system, which has already brought results at a global level: Lü System.

The use of this system aims to bring the educational content closer to each child, beyond the social condition or possible diagnoses that may affect their learning. The sports field will thus become an inclusive, immersive and friendly learning space.

In this class, the focus will be on children’s active involvement, teamwork and multi-sensory learning, simultaneously activating the visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic senses, so that children understand more easily, retain better and really participate in the educational process. Learning becomes an experience, not an obligation, and school information becomes much more accessible for children without support at home or for children with special educational needs.

The project is new in Romania, but it already has impressive results at the global level. More than 1 million children from around 35 countries have participated in Lü activities, accumulating more than 1.5 million hours of active learning, in diverse educational contexts, including vulnerable communities.

“We chose to organize the first multisensory learning space in a school in the Giulești district precisely because it is an area where the challenges are real and visible. We believe that education can only transform if we intervene where it is most needed. Through this tool, children are encouraged to communicate freely and confidently, to work in a team, to express their emotions, to be present, curious and involved in their own education. We want it to be an invitation to a different way of to go to school”, says Carmen Andreșoi, executive director, FDP – Protagonists in education.

How multisensory learning contributes to dropout prevention

The impact of such an approach on the prevention of school dropout is multiple:

• Increases motivation to come to school – students are more interested and engaged, and absenteeism decreases.

• Reduces the feeling of failure – each child can participate at his own pace, without fear of making mistakes.

• Supports real inclusion – children with learning difficulties or special educational needs are naturally integrated into activities.

• Improves student relationships – team activities develop empathy, cooperation and mutual respect.

• Creates a positive emotional connection with the school, essential for keeping children in the educational system.

“FDP – Protagonists in education will support the integration of the system in the teaching methods of school teachers, but also within the Real Madrid Social Sports School program. This is a program to prevent school dropout through sports, carried out in the neighborhoods on the outskirts of Bucharest, with the support of DGASPC Sector 3 and the Sector 3 City Hall, Sector 6 City Hall and DGASPC Sector 6, as well as through partnerships with schools in the sector.

The system was purchased with the support of the Decathlon Foundation, the Dacia Foundation for Romania, Societe Generale Global Solution Center and Partner Hero, companies that understood the need to change the learning paradigm, to reduce the social gap and facilitate access to education for all children.

We hope that making education accessible will increase children’s interest in learning, and the path to high school, for a child born in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Bucharest, will become more accessible. A worthy future can only be built through access to education, and the motto of the FDP team is: Education changes life!”, adds Carmen Andreșoi, executive director, FDP – Protagonists in education.
