Mircea Lucescu underwent surgery on the hip on Monday, and today he was discharged from the hospital, leaving the clinic in the north of the capital and helped by his wife and a close friend.

The Romanian coach has been suffering for some time of coxarthrosis, a disease that his former colleague from Dinamo and the national, Cornel Dinu, is facing. Mircea Lucescu decided to be operated on to get rid of the problem, undergoing surgery performed by the orthopedic doctor Vlad Predescu.

Neli’s wife expected to exit the hospital

After 6 days on the hospital bed, the legendary coach, 79 years old, was released today, being expected by his wife, Neli Lucescu, and a close friend. In the images captured by the photojournalists ProSport can be seen how the two took over the technician, who helped a pair of crutches to go. The coach needed the support of the close ones to get in the car.

The recovery after such an operation lasts about a month, so Mircea Lucescu will be in full force to prepare national in the debut of the World Championship preliminaries, the first match being scheduled on March 21, with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
