It is about sea bass.

I brought a batch from Italy, from the Adriatic Sea, a batch of 200 specimens. We are going to transfer them to the Black Sea water and observe the adaptability, stress if any and growth rate“, said Victor Niță, scientific researcher, according to Digi24.

This batch is stored in a container of salt water. In addition, the fish will be kept under observation to determine if they manage to adapt to the new conditions.

The sea bream has been in our laboratory for a year. They came, like the sea bass you saw earlier, at a size of 5-7 grams and within a year they ended up exceeding 500 grams. They have exceeded the first commercial size and these specimens can practically be sold for consumption”stated Magda Nenciu, scientific researcher.

Experts believe that this species will easily adapt to the conditions in the Black Sea.

“We consider that it is a good fish, it has economic value, if we compare it with anchovy, for example, or horse mackerel. In the last 3-4 years, fishermen, accidentally and not in very large quantities, caught sea bass”said the president of the Federation of Black Sea Fishermen, Laurentiu Mirea.
