A mayor of a commune in Botoșani county made a rare gesture, which moved the community. Viorel Nichiteanu sold his company and rewarded each employee with a car, the models being chosen according to their preferences.
Viorel Nichiteanu, the mayor of Rădăuți-Prut commune, sold his company NICVITIB SRL, based in Miorcani, and chose to reward his loyal employees before retiring from business.
The nine employees of the company, active in the field of agriculture and known for managing hundreds of hectares of land, each received a car, the models being chosen according to each one’s preferences.
“I sat and thought a lot about how I could repay all these people who have been so close and dedicated to me all these years. They have been by my side in good times and in bad times, and when I achieved beautiful results, but also when I had tragedies in the family. At least I should do this much for them.” declared mayor Viorel Nichiteanu, according to botosani24.
According to the local media, the employees went with the mayor to the car dealerships in Suceava to order the cars. BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Suzuki models were purchased, and some of the employees received, in addition to cars, an ATV 6×6, intended for agricultural activities.
“At first, I didn’t believe it, but he showed us leaflets and we came here to Suceava to order the cars”, one of the employees told gazetabt.
The company, active for almost 30 years, recently passed under the management of a partner from Germany.
The employees will continue to work under the new management, ensuring the continuity of the agricultural activity.
The mayor announced that he will get more involved in local social projects, supporting students and the elderly in the community from his own resources.
“I will try that after handing over the actions from NICVITIB SRL to get more involved in social actions, to do actions to help the elderly, and to support school students even with my own money. May everyone be healthy”, he also said.
