Dozens of ambulances in Romania have, at this moment, hundreds of thousands of kilometers and endanger the lives of patients with each transport.
“About 600 of new ambulances will be purchased for equipping emergency medical services throughout the country. The investment is about 546 million lei, approved today by the Government and will be made from non-reimbursable external funds, estimated over a period of three years. Equipping emergency services with new ambulances, properly equipped and compliant with the latest medical standards will lead to a reduction in response time, an essential element for saving people in emergency situations“, declared Mihai Constantin, the spokesperson of the Executive.
Also, by a Government decision, the framework was established for the approval of the financing of expenses with medicines, vaccines, medical devices and sanitary materials related to the operationalization of mobile medical capabilities called “Emergency medical teams 1“, offered by Romania through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
“This action is carried out through the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital, the “Grigore Alexandrescu” Children’s Emergency Clinical Hospital, also from Bucharest, and the Târgu Mureș County Emergency Clinical Hospital. The necessary sums are allocated from the state budget to complete the certification of these modules offered by Romania through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, and the list of medicines and everything necessary will be established by a subsequent order of the Minister of Health“, stated the spokesperson of the Government.
