The grief of a Romanian family who paid thousands of euros for a five-star hotel in Turkey: “You have nothing left to eat”

A Romanian family who spent a week’s stay at a five-star hotel in Antalya had an extremely unpleasant experience, complaining among other things about insufficient food and the arrogance of the staff.

And one of the members of the Romanian family told on the Forum Turkey Facebook group, which has over 78,000 members, the ordeals they went through at the five-star Mukarnas Resort hotel in Antalya. The family claims that they paid no less than 3,260 euros for a one-week all-inclusive stay, but had nothing to eat.

The adventures started as soon as the Romanians arrived at the hotel around noon. The employees at the hotel reception told them that they still have to wait until the reserved rooms are ready. The Romanian who wrote on the Facebook group stated that she paid 3,260 euros for two family rooms with two interconnected bedrooms and a simple family room.

However, when the Romanians arrived, only one room was ready and it was not the one chosen at the time of booking. The room did not have a sea view, as requested, but was on the mezzanine, where it smelled strongly of mold.

“I gave up on that room from the start, I went back to the reception and asked to be given what I paid for. Of course, the head of the reception was very aggressive, saying that he has no reason for these to be in the rooms, that the hotel is full as it is full season. Then the vigilante in us woke up, and we told him to return to each family the 3,260 euros that we paid since October 2023, plus interest and the inflation rate in Turkey, he looked at us and said to we are waiting. After half an hour we were given our rooms. Of course, one of the families did not receive a room with a sea view, after a scandal of about 15 minutes, they had to pay another 235 euros for the sea view supplement”the Romanian told on the “Forum Turkey” Facebook group.

“The insensitivity of the staff goes beyond all limits”

The Romanian family was also very dissatisfied with the minibar in the room, as well as the insufficient food, although it is a five-star resort in Antalya.

“The minibar contains two waters two, bottles of Pepsi and two juices with straws. There would be a lot to say, from the insensitivity of the staff that exceeds any limit of common sense, if you don’t give them at least 1 euro no one pays attention to the food chapter. Very little food, let alone chicken, beef and fish, but not quality fish, mackerel and sometimes sea bream. If you don’t arrive in the first hour, an hour and a half after the restaurant opens towards the end of the program, you really don’t have anything left to eat. Somewhere 20-25 minutes before the end of the meal program, the trays are collected from the hot belts”wrote the tourist from Romania.

The Mukarnas Resort Hotel was opened in April 2007, has an area of ​​30,000 square meters and 425 rooms with a total number of 1,100 beds.
