The written exams from the National Assessment and Baccalaureate 2025 will begin and end in June, after the end of the courses of the 2024-2025 school year. On Monday, the Ministry of Education launched two orders in public debate: one regarding the organization and conduct of the National Assessment for the graduates of class VIII in the 2024-2025 school year and another regarding the organization and conduct of the national Baccalaureate exam in 2025.
National exams 2025. Main proposed changes
- conducting the Baccalaureate skills tests between January 27 and February 7, 2025;
- completing the written tests at the National Assessment and the Baccalaureate before the end of June;
- the possibility of viewing the papers after the initial results are displayed and before appeals are submitted, both for the National Assessment and for the Baccalaureate, which will lead to the extension of the appeals period.
Students will submit appeals in the knowledge of the case
According to the ministry, the decision to allow the works to be viewed was taken to provide better substantiation of the decision to challenge the grade initially obtained. Filing the appeal is not conditional on viewing the paper, and this will be done at the exam centers.
“For predictability: Along with the national assessment and baccalaureate exam calendars, the national exam simulation calendars, respectively national and baccalaureate assessment, are also published. The implementation calendars are available in the annexes of the two documents subject to consultation”, states the Ministry of Education.
The exams, moved because of the heat wave
The Ministry of Education emphasizes that the proposal of calendars is motivated by the need to take into account the evolution of extreme temperatures during the summer, which can affect the performance of candidates, as well as the requirement to find an effective solution for students whose admission to higher education depends on the presentation of the baccalaureate diploma must fall within the established deadlines.
“We mention that the alternative option taken into account at the level Ministry of Education involves the start of the written tests of the national assessment, respectively of the baccalaureate after the completion of the courses of the school year 2024 – 2025 (June 20, 2025), as follows: Written tests of the national assessment 2025: June 23 – 25 (the whole process to be completed on July 9, with displaying the final results). Written tests for the national baccalaureate exam: June 30 – July 3 (the whole process to be completed on July 15, with the publication of the final results)”. the Ministry of Education also sent.
Along with the calendars of the National Assessment and Baccalaureate exams, the simulation calendars of the national exams, respectively national assessment and baccalaureate, are also published.
After the end of the consultation stage, which is scheduled to end on August 26, the final form of the documents will be approved by order of the minister, after the analysis of the feedback received and after the meeting of the Social Dialogue Commission.
