The men’s bobsleigh crew of Romania, led by pilot Mihai Tentea and consisting of George Iordache, Constantin Dinescu, Mihai Păcioianu and Andrei Nica, finished the Olympic race in 17th position, after the last two legs on Sunday.
After the third down, the tricolors were higher in the hierarchy, but lost three places in an extremely balanced competition, in which the differences were minimal. The starting order decisively influenced the final results, generating numerous spectacular changes in the standings from one round to another.
In Sunday’s formula, in the 4th leg, George Iordache was replaced by Andrei Nica, Olympic youth champion, who thus debuted at the Olympic Games, an important moment for one of the youngest athletes in the crew. Romania lines up, moreover, one of the youngest crews in the world circuit.
