On Monday, April 28, the last week of the election campaign began before the presidential elections. The first round of the elections will be on May 4, 2025, and the second round, if necessary, is established for May 18, 2025.

The election campaign started on April 4, at 00:00, and will end on Saturday, May 3, at 7:00 in the morning. In the case of a second round, the campaign will start again after validating the results by the Constitutional Court and will end on May 17, at 7:00, reports Agerpres.
For the Romanians in the Diaspora, the voting process starts on Friday, May 2, from 7:00 local time, and will take place during three days:
– Friday, May 2: 07:00 – 21:00 (local time)
– Saturday, May 3: 07:00 – 21:00 (local time)
– Sunday, May 4: 07:00 – 21:00 (local time or, at the latest, 9:00 pm Romania time)
According to the Central Electoral Bureau, the order of the candidates on the ballot is as follows:
1. George Nicolae Simion (Alliance for the Union of Romanians)
2. George Crin Laurenciiu Antonescu (Electoral Alliance Romania before)
3. Elena Valerica Lasconi (Union Save Romania)
4. Cristian Vasile Terheş (Romanian Conservative National Party)
5. Marcela Lavinia Şandru (Liberal Social Humanist Party)
6. Victor Viorel Ponta (independent candidate)
7. Sebastian Constantin Popescu (New Romania Party)
8. Silviu Predoiu (League of National Action League)
9. John-Ion Banu-Muscel (independent candidate)
10. Petru Daniel Funeriu (independent candidate)
11. Nicușor-Daniel Dan (independent candidate)
Of these, five candidates – Elena Lasconi, George Simion, Cristian Terheș, Silviu Predoiu and Sebastian Constantin Popescu – also participated in last year’s presidential elections. Then, Elena Lasconi and Călin Georgescu arrived in the second round, but the poll was canceled by the RCC.
