Singer Costin Adam, who is part of the band founded more than six decades ago, told G4Media that the artist’s desire “it is the letter of the law for us”.

“Nicu’s wish is the letter of the law for us. In his last moments he said he wanted us to continue with the Phoenix because he didn’t fight for 62 years to lose the Phoenix. Then, his wish was for the ashes to be divided: half to be thrown into the sea, in Spain, and half to be placed next to his mother’s ashes, which he kept at home, on a shelf, and which would remain in Romania“, said Costin Adam, according to the quoted source.

In addition, Phoenix members will be in Timișoara from Monday, August 5. Also, the artist’s life partner, who was in Spain, is to arrive in the country.

The family and relatives will say goodbye to the artist on Tuesday, between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., at the Capitol Hall of the Banatul Philharmonic in Timișoara.

Costin Adam revealed that there will be a private burial ceremony.

In addition, the Phoenix members and Sorin Stanca, the president of the Hells Angels Timișoara club, are planning a large-scale motorcycle parade in memory of the artist, who was a lover of engines.

We remind you that Nicu Covaci, aged 77, underwent brain surgery on March 22, at the Timişoara County Hospital. The diagnosis made by the doctors was “expansive intracranial process”, the operation being an emergency. The surgical intervention, led by the team of renowned neurosurgeon Horia Pleș, lasted approximately six hours, during which a brain tumor was removed.

The Phoenix frontman felt unwell shortly before the operation, complaining of numbness in his face and impaired vision.
