After his death, which occurred on September 4, at the age of 91, the whole world was curious to find out what will happen to the empire built by Giorgio Armani, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century.

On September 9, two hand -written wills, kept in sealed envelopes, were officially opened by the notary. The first of them had been drafted on March 15, and the second on April 5. Although the exact content of the two documents has not yet been made public, the Italian press states that they reflect a succession thought in the smallest details by the fashion designer.

Giorgio Armani has always been a rigorous man, both professionally and personal life. In the absence of direct heirs, such as the husband or children, his entire fortune, but also the control over the company will be transferred to the persons and institutions he considered trustworthy, according to the same source.

It seems that in the center of the successor table is the Armani Foundation, set up a decade ago with its near -life partner, Leo Dell’orco, and banker Irving Bellotti, representative of Rothschild Italy.

Even if the exact details of the wills are not yet public, it is assumed that Armani’s wealth will be largely returned to the three grandchildren: Silvana and Roberta, the daughters of his brother Sergio, who died previously, Andrea Camerana, the son of his sister Rosanna.

At the same time, an essential role in this inheritance is to Leo Dell’orco, his life partner and, at the same time, the closest business collaborator.

Luxury properties and works of art

However, the inheritance is not limited to the actions of Armani, but also includes an impressive collection of luxury properties. These include the villa on the island of Pantelleria, the summer residence in Dei Marmi forces, recently extended by the purchase of the club in Capannina, its home in Milan, the property of Villa Rosa in the Oltrepò Pavese area, but also residences located in Saint Moritz, Paris and Saint Tropez.

In addition, Armani was the holder of a valuable art collection, which could reach the custody of the foundation or cultural institutions.

It is speculated that among the beneficiaries of the will could be found long-term collaborators or people who played an essential role in his career, as well as humanitarian organizations or social causes that he has sustained over the years.

Included among the personalities of Milan

In addition to the process of distributing the assets, the authorities in Milan started the procedures for Giorgio Armani to be included in Famedio, the pantheon of the city’s prominent personalities.

The mayor of Milan, Beppe the Sala, confirmed that the family gave his agreement in this regard, considering this honor as a natural one for a man who defined the Italian elegance in the world. However, there will be no exception to the rule that provides for ten years from death for a public street or space to bear its name, as requested in a motion.

“The rule is to wait ten years. What we have done for other personalities we will do for Armani”, said the mayor of Milan.

We remind you that the famous Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani died on September 4, at the age of 91, and was driven on the last road Monday, September 8, during a private ceremony, reserved for the family.
