The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are in, transiting or intend to travel to the Republic of North Macedonia that, between July 1 and August 31, hot weather is forecast, with temperatures above normal for the summer period, increasing the risk of wildfires throughout the territory of this state.

The MAE has issued a travel alert due to the possibility of wildfires starting, which can cause road traffic disruptions and increase waiting times at the Macedonian border crossing points.
In these conditions, the movement of vehicles with a total weight of more than 15 tons is restricted on the entire Macedonian road network when high temperatures are recorded, as well as on weekends, as follows: Friday, between 15:00 and 22:00, Saturday, in the time intervals 7:00 – 12:00 and 18:00 – 24:00, and on Sundays in the interval 7:00 – 22:00.
Also, the movement of vehicles heavier than 7.5 tons is prohibited on the A2 Skopje – Ohrid – Skopje route on Fridays between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., on Saturdays between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 24:00 and on Sundays between 7:00 and 22:00.
