The Ministry of Education and Research has launched new initiatives to combat pseudo and manipulation in the public space, promoting education and science as essential means of social protection.

The Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, announced three important measures meant to protect the misinformation citizens and to support the development of an educational environment based on real knowledge.
The first initiative aims to make a guide to combat the illegal content online, in collaboration with the National Audiovisual Council. This guide will be distributed in schools and universities, and teachers and parents will be encouraged to use it to educate young people about the dangers of misinformation.
Another important measure is the partnership with Tiktok Romania, which aims to promote the educational content and create a safe online space for young people. In this platform will be launched initiatives that encourage critical thinking and discourage the spread of pseudo.
In addition, the minister has proposed at European level two major actions: deeper integration of education and science in social media and the correct presentation of occupations and professions for the citizens of the European Union.
In a press release, Daniel David emphasized the importance of education in the development of a prosperous and worthy society: “The intellectual (intelligence/creativity) potential of Romanians is comparable to any nation in the most developed countries. But it must be gone through education to use it for the benefit of the nation and to protect people from the waste/distortion by contaminating with pseudo and pseudoreligia ”.
The minister also expressed a concern about the effects of misinformation on young people: “I see with great sadness in the public space, too many intelligent Romanian and seniors, but overwhelmed by the manipulation of pseudoștise/pseudoreligia. (…) That’s why we initiated such educational-scientific steps: to strengthen and/or recover the potential, respectively human dignity. Education is here for all those who seek it! ”
