The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced on Sunday, November 30, that currently, 3,190 PNRR contracts are ongoing, and “17 new hospitals are currently under construction”.
“In the last year, the health system has entered a stage where investments are not only approved, but seen, felt and advanced at a rapid pace.
PNRR 2023: 108 million lei payments made
PNRR 2024: 1.12 billion lei payments made
PNRR 2025 first semester: 734 million lei payments made
PNRR 2025 semester II: 2.3 billion lei payments made
TOTAL: 4.27 billion lei budget execution so far
They are not simple numbers. It is proof of a constant pace, month after month, in the implementation of projects, in modern equipment, in works that advance daily on construction sites all over the country“, the minister said on Facebook.
Rogobete states that there are over 3,190 contracts under way through the PNRR, and in such a large portfolio it is natural that some projects go quickly and others require adjustments. Where problems arose, the ministry stepped in to correct delays and ensure continued investment.
In the area of hospital infrastructure, progress is already visible: 17 new hospitals are under construction, projects that existed only on paper two years ago.
For the very large projects, which exceed the duration of the PNRR, continuity was ensured through the Health Operational Program, where nine strategic investments, including county hospitals and regional centers in oncology, cardiology, neurology and radiotherapy, will be carried forward.
