“400, 500, 600 lei per month. Is this a burden?”
The Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Florin Manole, said on Friday, July 18, that Romania does not have an excessive number of socially assisted and no exaggerated expenses in this field.
The statement was made during the launch event of the “White Charter of SMEs in Romania”, it came to a question regarding the number of unemployed and socially assisted, in the context of the deficit of 620,000 jobs on the Romanian market.
“I am a social-democrat and I tell you with figures that Romania does not have too many socially assisted and does not have too many expenses in social assistance. If I tell you how much the minimum inclusion is, you will realize that no one can stay without working as little, from one day to another, on this money: 400, 500 said Florinmanole, quoted by Agerpres.
When it was suggested that there are socially assisted persons who complete their income with “black money”, the minister stressed that the responsibility for these situations is the responsibility of the territorial labor inspectorate, which must do its job efficiently.
“The ITM has to do their job 100%, but they must have more work inspectors because, from year to year, the number of work inspectors decreases. Fewer people have to control more and more companies in connection with more and more potential violations of the law.” explained Florin Manole.
Regarding social aid, the minister stated that the ministry that leads a re -evaluation of the criteria for granting them, including in the case of disabilities, to ensure the correctness of the process and the traceability of the files.
“We have to make some reforms and make a re -evaluation of the disability criteria and a traceability of the process of granting benefits”, the minister said.
The village where more people “got sick” suddenly
Florin Manole believes that the biggest problem is the fraud, but this does not mean that all the people who receive social aid must be stigmatized.
He gave the example of a situation reported by a mayor from Satu Mare county, where, in a commune, a large number of people with disabilities, with the same paraphon from the same doctor and with the same diagnosis appeared.
“A primary colleague from Satu Mare told me that a number of people with disabilities, with the same paraphrase from the same doctor and the same diagnosis, have appeared. And everyone knows the mayor and knows the whole commune that they had nothing a month ago. Yes, it is a fraud in the system and it is a way that some receive some social benefits. We do not want and do not have to encourage social assistance and not even social workers want to stay on 300, 400, 500 lei per month. stressed the Minister of Labor.
Nor the unemployed do not take it too well
At the same time, Manole explained that Romania does not offer excessive benefits for the unemployed people and that the amounts they receive are insufficient for a decent living, being a legitimate right, not an unjustified help.
“Romania is far from having excessive benefits for those who are in unemployment. People who are unemployed in this country receive little money, several hundred lei, insufficient money for a decent living. A person who, to take several hundred lei for unemployment, worked for years and has consistently contributed.“, Florin Manole concluded on Friday, July 18, during the organized event for the launch of the” White Charter of SMEs in Romania “, the 23rd edition, the largest analysis of the Romanian business environment.
