The Ministry of Education grants financial incentives to 10th graders for the National Assessment and Baccalaureate. How much money will they get?

The Ministry of Education proposes to grant financial incentives worth 2,000 lei for the 74 8th grade graduates who obtained an average of 10 in this year’s National Assessment, respectively 5,000 lei for the 80 high school graduates who obtained an average of 10 in the Baccalaureate. In the draft Government decision published in public consultation by the Ministry of Education, the granting of financial incentives in the amount of 2,000 lei to each eighth grade graduate who obtained an average of 10 in the National Assessment, session 2024, and in the amount of 5,000 of lei for each high school graduate who obtained an average of 10 in the national Baccalaureate exam, June-July 2024 session, writes news.ro.

The money would be allocated from the budget of the Ministry of Education. The list of beneficiaries of financial incentives and the method of granting them will be approved by order of the Minister of Education.

The purpose of the draft normative act is to support high-performance activity in pre-university education. The present project of the normative act aims to create the normative framework for stimulating high school performance in pre-university education, responding to the current requirements determined by the changes produced in national and international legislation and practice”it is stated in the substantiation note of the project.

According to the cited source, this year 80 high school graduates obtained an average of 10 in the Baccalaureate exam (58 in the national baccalaureate exam, 1 in the special session and 21 in the German baccalaureate exam), June-July 2024 session, and 74 graduates of the 8th grade obtained an average of 10 in the National Assessment.

“Taking into account that these are young secondary school graduates, respectively high school graduates with outstanding academic results, who have every chance to continue to achieve performance in high school education, respectively in university education, we appreciate that they can be offered a financial incentive that be useful in their further development, in the professional and personal field. In the aforementioned context, we appreciate that their performance is exceptional and deserves to be highlighted, stimulated and celebrated. This is a sign of appreciation for their results and an invitation to the entire school population to a high performance education”add the representatives of the Ministry of Education.
