The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs that a person on the list of Romanian citizens reported missing following the floods in Spain has been identified as deceased.

“In continuation of the communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) regarding the situation of Romanian citizens affected by the floods in the Kingdom of Spain, the MAE, through the Embassy of Romania in Madrid and the Consulate of Romania in Castellón de la Plana, is verifying the information regarding the disappearance of 16 Romanian citizens, in the context of recent meteorological phenomena“, the MAE sent on Friday, November 1, in a statement.
“Representatives of the diplomatic mission and the consular office are in permanent contact with the competent Spanish authorities, as well as with Romanian citizens, including family members, who have reported missing persons, and remain ready to provide consular assistance, depending on requests“, the MAE also transmits.
The Embassy of Romania in Madrid and the Consulate of Romania in Castellón de la Plana are verifying the information appearing in the public space regarding the death of some Romanian citizens, victims of the recent floods in the Valencian Community.
Also, the MAE informed on November 1 that, according to the information sent by the Spanish authorities, a person on the list of Romanian citizens reported missing was identified as deceased.

The toll from the storm in eastern Spain has risen to 205 dead, of which 202 in the Valencia region, the local authorities announced on Friday, reports the EFE agency.
