The money or the national team? The Italians broke the news. The next destination for Nicolae Stanciu, after the premature separation from Genoa

Nicolae Stanciu is very close to the end of his adventure at Genoa, just six months after signing with the Serie A team.

The Italian press announces that the 32-year-old Romanian midfielder is going to terminate his contract with the club patronized by Dan Șucu, and the separation would be formalized in the coming days. Although there was an option to extend until the summer of 2027, the management does not intend to activate it, and the footballer would receive financial compensation.

Arriving at Genoa last summer as a free player, Stanciu made his first appearances in a top European championship, but his role was limited. He played in only seven games for the “griffins”, four in Serie A and three in the Coppa Italia, without being able to establish himself as a starter.

His future remains open, but the options are not very numerous

According to gsp.ro, two Chinese clubs, Dalian Yingbo and Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, are interested in his services, and this option seems the most likely if Stanciu puts financial security first. The midfielder knows Chinese football well, where he played between 2022 and 2023 at Wuhan Three Towns, during which he won the title of champion and the Super Cup.

However, there is also the possibility of a return to Romania. If he wants to remain in the national team’s attention, Stanciu could accept a lower salary, and Rapid is one of the teams that could try to bring him, especially in the context of the good relationship between the player and Dan Șucu, the man who convinced him to sign with Genoa.
