According to representatives of ANAT – the National Association of Travel Agencies – this year the Romanian coast will be stormed during the Pentecost mini-vacation.

From the data sent by the tourism agencies, it appears that the occupancy level of the seaside accommodation units for Pentecost will be at least 85%, with more than 80,000 tourists expected at the sea, at the end of this week, for the mini-vacation June 22-24 .

Compared to the same period last year, there is a 20% increase in demand for the Romanian coast. The trend has been observed since the beginning of June, compared to the similar period in 2023.

The most sought-after Black Sea seaside resorts are Mamaia, Eforie and Venus, but the lowest rates are charged by hotels in Jupiter, Saturn and Eforie Nord.

For example, the room per night at a 3-star hotel in Jupiter starts from 130 lei, and at a 4-star hotel in Saturn from 140 lei/night.

The same enthusiasm is expected from the Romanians who have not yet gone on summer vacation abroad, and for the spa and mountain resorts. The most profitable offer of a spa resort, for this period, is in Călimănești Vâlcea, according to ANAT data, where a two-night stay with full board starts from 424 lei/person.

“There are still last minute promotions or special offers”

Especially after June 15, 2024, the number of stays increased considerably, officials claim.

“Currently there are still last-minute promotions or special offers like «pay for 6 nights, stay 7». Due to the low, off-season rates, it is possible that the number of reservations will continue to increase for the Pentecost mini-holiday but also for the end of June”. mention the ANAT representatives.

According to them, the attractions in the area, the new investments in hotels, the increase in demand for all-inclusive hotels, a better image of the Romanian coast, but also the very warm weather, determined this increase.

In addition, the rates for accommodation on the Romanian coast, according to the cited sources, increased by only 8% compared to the previous year: “This is because we do not refer to contract rates, but to what we sell in real time. To a large extent, the Romanian coast is in a dynamic sales model…. In June, accommodation prices start from 100 lei per room per night, respectively during the Pentecost mini-holiday from 130 lei per room per night”.

The most requests for the Romanian coast were registered for all inclusive hotels.

Free parking in the resorts of the southern coast

There are other reasons why Romanians are more and more attracted to the Black Sea resorts, such as the fact that in the south of the coast the decision was made that parking will be free this summer season: in Mangalia, Neptun-Olimp , Jupiter, Cape Aurora, Venus and Saturn.

“I find that there are a lot of offers for the Romanian coast this year. I recommend every tourist to have their own travel agent, to make reservations according to their wishes and budget. And above all, reservations, not payment, must be made in advance to get the best deals.” stated Alin Burcea, president of ANAT.

The most sought-after Pentecost resorts and all-inclusive rates

This year, Orthodox Pentecost is celebrated between June 23 and 24. The 23rd falls on Sunday, while the 24th is Monday, and as the Labor Code provides days off for this holiday, Romanians will be able to enjoy an extended mini-vacation.

The most sought after Whitsun resorts, which register the highest degree of occupancy, are Mamaia, Eforie and Venus, according to ANAT data.

Here are some examples of rates applied on Pentecost, for all inclusive: 3-star hotel Mamaia – 549 lei double room/night, respectively 4-star hotel Neptun – 494 lei double room/night.

Where are the cheapest accommodation prices on the Romanian coast

ANAT officials also provided information on the most affordable prices for Pentecost in the seaside resorts.

So, the prices for a room per night at a 3-star hotel in Jupiter start from 130 lei, respectively 140 lei per night at a 4-star hotel in Saturn.

In Mamaia, prices start from 200 lei/night room in a 3-star hotel, in Venus from 260 lei room/night in a 4-star hotel, and in Eforie Nord from 340 lei room/night in a 4 star hotel. These are accommodations with private beach and sunbeds included.

The hoteliers have also prepared special packages for the Pentecost mini-vacation: starting from 1,436 lei/person for a 3-night stay with all inclusive at a 4-star hotel in Mamaia, from 220 lei/person for a 2-night stay with breakfast at a 3-star hotel in Eforie Nord and from 743 lei/person a 3-night stay with half board at a 3-star hotel in the Venus resort.

Offers in spa resorts

As I said, the same interest is expected from the Romanians for the resorts in the balneo-climatic areas and in the mountains.

In the spa resorts, tourist packages start from 795 lei/person for a 3-night stay with half board at a 3-star hotel in Băile Felix, from 424 lei/person for a 2-night stay with full board at a hotel of 3 stars in Călimănești Căciulata and from 1,150 lei/person a 3-night stay with half board – 4-star hotel in Băile Herculane.
