The most unexpected surprises from Nostalgia. The photo with Nicolae Ceaușescu that caused a stir PHOTO

The third edition of the Nostalgia festival, organized at the Romanian Sports Shooting Federation, gathered tens of thousands of revelers during the four days of fun.

People of all ages, especially the children of the 90s, but also their parents, had the opportunity to travel back in time, to the 2000s. Established hits from over two decades resounded on all five stages Numerous artists, including a famous manele singer, came to perform, and the experience was completed by childhood games, popcorn and cotton candy.

Did someone say a time machine hasn’t been invented yet? The Nostalgia Festival had, as always, the aim of transporting the participants back to the 2000s.

The music was for all tastes, from popular to Latin disco and house, or the new techno. There were also old handcuffs.

Five “neighborhoods” of fun and surprise artists

During the festival, five stages were set up, called “Sucar District”, “Hip-Hop District”, “La Plajă – Disco Loca”, “Electro District” and “Pe Maidan – Main Stage”.

On the main stage (Main Stage) the surprises were announced! Until the last moment, the participants were kept on their toes, not knowing which artists were going to perform. In the case of some there were clues in the form of texts or emojis, for example, a blonde girl – Andreea Bănică, “Neighborhood boy” – Puya, an airplane – Fly Project, a watermelon – Pepe.

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, there was “Chef de Chef”, with Adi Minune, perhaps the most unexpected surprise from Nostalgia.

Last night, Pepe reminded us that “Only love”, only love, gives you hope to live.

At the same time, during the breaks between the live shows, the DJs maintained the atmosphere. They were also accompanied by projections full of creativity. The mixes were also accompanied by the voice of Greta Thunberg or the old Windows XP operating system.

Dozens of Instagrammable places

And this time, the festival offered dozens of Instagrammable spots, perfect for letting your imagination run wild. The participants had the opportunity to be photographed with a vintage police car, a Dacia 1300, inscribed with “Militia”.

It was also possible to put a card in the telephone box, an old one, as we could find on the streets only in the 2000s. Revelers could even take a break from the meal at the “Last Supper”, another ideal setting for non-conformist photos, and the more persistent could pose in a yellow room full of bananas.

Back to school and the communist era

The last bell rang! The 12th class catalog was prepared in a classroom, which the nostalgic youngsters took by storm. They took turns posing as students and teachers, some of them even coming to the festival with their friends from high school.

An entire school was built within the festival grounds, with a gymnasium and a painting room and, of course, the indispensable chancellery.

To get there, the road passed through a fabulous Communist Museum.

Nothing was missing from the decor. The way a house was arranged, what was to be put on the table, trinkets, black and white televisions and, the central element: the portrait of the communist leader, Nicolae Ceaușescu.

Alluding to the Revolution of 1989, but also to the present day, the photo was accompanied by the text “System Failure”, made of neon lights.

Let’s play

Festivalgoers were invited to play both outside “in front of the block” and at home, on the computer. At the entrance to the festival one could jump the sotron or the rope.

Towards the Main stage, things started to change and so did the technology. It was hard to get a seat at a computer to play Zuma, Solitair or GTA and more.

While waiting, people could find your old cell phone from an impressive collection of “push-button” phones that was on display in the same area of the festival.

Numerous arcade games were also set up, as we used to find only in special arcades. Depending on their preference for adrenaline or music, young people had the opportunity to drive cars, play the old version of “Mortal Kombat”, or play an instrument such as drums or guitar.

The taste of childhood

And for the experience to be complete, elements of the taste of childhood could not be missing either. The Nostalgia Festival has made available many tons of food and drinks for all appetites: from traditional food, small bites and sausages, to burgers and fries. There were also options for vegetarians.

However, the popcorn and cotton candy stands were very popular, for all nostalgics.
