The Minister of National Defense, Ionuț Mosteanu, met on Monday, September 22, with the members of the Commission for Defense, Public Order and National Safety of the Chamber of Deputies, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense (MAPN), continuing the series of periodic meetings with the profile parliamentarians, after the visit of the representatives of the Defense Commission from the Romanian Senate.

The purpose of these meetings is to inform the legislature about the current activities of the Romanian Army, the stage and the prospects of the programs of endowment and modernization, as well as the discussion of other aspects of common interest.
Minister Mosteanu presented to the parliamentarians the geopolitical situation near the borders of Romania, in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, and its implications on national security.
“At the same time, the stage of various endowment programs carried out this year has been reviewed for the endowment of the Romanian Army with modern equipment”, It is mentioned on the MApN website.
The parliamentarians asked questions to the MAPN officials, being discussed the main projects of normative acts in the legislative procedure in the field of defense.
“In the end, the minister Ionuț Moșteanu thanked the members of the Commission for the constant support granted to the Ministry of National Defense and for the opening demonstrated by the Romanian Parliament regarding the acquisition of military technique and cooperation with NATO allies and the European Union. He stressed that such meetings consolidate the dialogue and bring benefits to the institutions,” transmits the MApN.
