Brașov becomes the capital of Latin dance in Romania, with the 17th edition of the National Salsa Congress. The event will take place between January 22 and 26, 2026 and brings together dance schools from all over the country, instructors and passionate dancers. It will be a complex program, full of workshops, parties and competitions.
The National Salsa Congress offers over 50 hours of workshops and two bootcamps dedicated to salsa and bachata styles, structured in four rooms and different levels of difficulty.
Participants will be able to learn salsa on1, salsa on2, cha-cha, boogaloo, bachata, kizomba and Afro-Cuban techniques, “and will cover essential aspects of dance, from styling and body movement to musicality and other relevant technical elements”, according to an official statement.
The Cupa Salsanama & Bachatanama Brașov competition offers dancers the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and win the appreciation of the community, while four nights of Latin parties and a special concert performed by La Maxima 79 Orchestra will enliven the participants’ evenings.
The event is organized by Salsa Picante and the Dance Academy from Brașov and takes place at the Lux Divina Event Center.

The National Salsa Congress promotes social dancing, professional training and cultural exchange between dancers, being known as “The Great Union of Salsa Dancers and Schools” from Romania.
