Euro 2025, the qualification system

Only the first place in each preliminary group is guaranteed qualification to the final tournament in Slovakia. The teams that will finish 2nd, in the nine preliminary groups, will have a separate ranking based on the results obtained in the qualifications. Here, the top three will also go to the final tournament. The other six teams, instead, will play round-trip play-off matches on November 11 and 19, 2024. The winners will also qualify for Euro 2025. A total of 16 national teams will compete in the final tournament in Slovakia Under 21. The host of the competition is automatically qualified.
