British journalists from the Daily Mail compiled, based on their experiences, a list of the best night trains in Europe. And several CFR night trains, on the Bucharest-Budapest route, were included in this new top.

One of the night trains praised in the well-known British newspaper is the train called “Ister” which departs from Bucharest North Railway Station at 18:15, has stops in Ploiesti, Brașov and Sibiu and arrives at Keleti station in the capital of Hungary the next day at 8:50 in the morning.
“The night train departing from Bucharest has a comfortable and civilized sleeping car, with compartments with 1, 2 or 3 beds, each with a sink. A bar-bistro carriage is generally attached between Bucharest and Simeria and serves cheap drinks, snacks and hot dishes. In spring and summer, when it’s light, the landscapes with the Carpathians that you can see from the train between Ploiesti and Brașov are simply wonderful”writes the British journalist Tom Chesshyre from the Daily Mail.
Another night train included in the European top is the Dacia Express, which departs from the North Station at 2:40 p.m. and arrives in Budapest the next day at 5:20 a.m.
“Dacia Express has a modern and air-conditioned Romanian sleeping car, a state-of-the-art car, some of the compartments have luxury equipment, including a private toilet and shower”the Daily Mail article also states.
The price of a seat in the sleeping car on the Bucharest-Budapest night trains starts from 422 lei round-trip, and can reach almost 600 lei, depending on the type of ticket chosen.
The list of the best night trains in Europe also included trains that run on the routes Brussels-Prague, with a frequency of three times a week, and London-Aberdeen. In the case of the first train, the price of a ticket in the sleeping car starts from 350 euros. As for the London-Aberdeen train, prices start from 310 euros, the train having luxury compartments with many facilities.
