Florin Dobrescu, the organizer of the commemoration ceremony of Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, held on November 30, in the Tâncăbești Forest – Ilfov, was placed under judicial control together with his wife and several other participants, in the investigation aimed at the use of fascist symbols, legionnaires, racists or xenophobes.

“At this moment we are free, me and Ioana Dobrescu. At dawn on Saturday, 7/12/2024, after a search of my mother’s home, we were taken from the headquarters by the representatives of the Criminal Investigation Service of the IJP Ilfov, and we were accompanied by masked men, based on an arrest warrant, being taken to the headquarters of the institution in Sector 1 of the Capital. Here, throughout the day, a series of procedures took place through which, in the criminal case opened in connection with the parastatus of Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, organized on 30.11.2024 in Tâncăbești Forest, we gained, one by one, the status of witnesses , as suspects, and then as defendants, being placed under judicial control for a period of 60 days. Measures of the same nature were taken against a number of 7 people who participated in the parastas in the Tâncăbești forest, others also being investigated by the judicial bodies“, it is stated in a statement sent to the editorial office of “Adevărul” by Florin Dobrescu.
Florin Dobrescu is the vice-president of the Gogu Puiu and Haiducii Dobrogei Association, an association formalized in 2016, and the one who organized the controversial event in Tâncăbești Forest, regarding which the criminal investigation was opened.

In the public photos from the parastatus in Tâncăbești, it can be seen that, alongside Florin Dobrescu, Archbishop Teodosie, actor Dan Puric, but also Eugen Sechila – neo-legionary leader and one of Călin Georgescu’s close associates – were present.

Dobrescu claims that “in the organization of that parastas from Tâncăbesti, I did not violate the laws of the country.”
Vice President of the Association Gogu Puiu and the Bandits of Dobrogei, also claims that “all that is happening is a witch hunt triggered by decision-makers at the highest level, to find some scapegoats, thus covering the inefficiency and complicity of those who did not have the ability to manage a particularly serious situation for Romania” .
We remind you that several leaders of the Legionary Movement were picked up from their homes on Saturday and taken to the police, for hearings in the investigation regarding the use of fascist, legionary, racist or xenophobic symbols, which took place on November 30, 2024 in Tâncăbești, Ilfov county.
Among the people taken to the hearings was Șerban Suru, the self-proclaimed head of the Legionary Movement in Romania for several years, investigated after he wore the uniform with legionary insignia and performed the legionary salute at the event at Corneliu Zelea Codreanu’s troit .
Suru appears in a report published ten years ago by the Center for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism in Romania, made following extensive monitoring from 2009-2014: “The neo-fascist, pro-legionary Şerban Suru is the leader of the group called “Archangel Mihai Legion – Iron Guard”.
The authorities, without reaction for 10 years
Florin Dobrescu, the vice-president of the Ion Gavrila Ogoranu Foundation, who performed the legionnaire and Nazi salute repeatedly, appears in the same report.
According to the 2014 report, Florin Dobrescu a ”published on the Buciumul.ro website, periodically at the All for the Country Party, an article in which collages intended to associate the person of Klaus Iohannis with the Nazi regime are reproduced. The original article was published on February 18, 2014 and was republished by some anti-Semitic websites between October 4 and 7, 2014, during the electoral campaign for the election of the President of Romania”.
In the report, images are published of Florin Dobrescu performing the Nazi salute at a gathering of legionnaires.
The Romanian authorities have not reacted in the ten years that have passed since the publication of this report.
