The paradise that attracts Romanian tourists with unchanged prices for 10 years. “Only we practice japca”

Romanians often choose to spend their holidays abroad, especially in the summer, to the dismay of hoteliers who complain about the lack of customers. But in many cases, Romanian tourists make this choice because, it's no secret, a stay abroad is cheaper than in their own country.

Tens of thousands of Romanians choose to vacation in Cyprus every year

Summer is getting closer, and many people have already booked their summer vacations in advance. According to statistics, countries such as Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Cyprus are favorite destinations for Romanians. The beautiful landscapes and lower prices in Romania are just as many arguments.

On the Facebook group Vacations under 500 euros, a lady is the author of a short but very to-the-point post: “Sunbed price in Cyprus – Paphos.” The few words are accompanied by photos that speak for themselves about the low prices in Cyprus. For example, on Alykes beach, a sunbed costs 2.50 euros, as does an umbrella. The prices are significantly lower and, I assure Internet users, they are valid for the whole season. Besides, the prices would be unchanged for 10 years, some say.

The post was received with interest by internet users, who noticed the difference compared to the prices on the Romanian coast. “Are these prices also in season or just off season?”, someone asked.

“Always“, a lady answered, and someone else intervened: “I think they have been the same for about 10 years.” And it was immediately completed by another netizen, who proved him right. “You are right! Six years ago, the prices were the same and it was in full season… I went to the beach in all the cities and there was no difference in money… Only here is the japca practiced. 10 euros a sunbed.” “They are always the same everywhere”another person added.

Low prices

Someone else wanted to know how much they should budget for a holiday in Cyprus.
“I would like to go to Cyprus next year. For 10 nights what budget would I need?he asked.

Even a Romanian from Cyprus answered him. “Although I've been here for 15 years, I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly. Now it depends on each one if you rent a hotel where you have breakfast or all inclusive (these being very few and expensive) or an apartment which is at least 80 euros per day. I can tell you prices, I don't know if you eat at the restaurant every day or if you want something simpler in the evening. A souflakia or a gyros that is 5-6 euros a portion or a pizza that is between 12-20 euros, for example. You will definitely want to try a Cypriot meze which costs between 22-25 euros per person. A meal in the city for two people can be 30 euros, it can be 50 euros. A beer is between 3.50-5 euros on the beach or in a cafe. A drink/cocktail is 9 euros in the evening in the bar/club.”

“Is the picture from today? Is it beach weather?”, someone asked. “Yes, I took the picture today, it's been very hot for a week. Yesterday, the husband had his first swim in the sea. Many people are on the beach already, two days ago it was 32 degrees.”

“Video is from Saturday”replied the author of the post. “They are government regulated prices all year round! Tourists are even encouraged to advertise possible higher prices, but I have not heard of this being the case. I have been to the east of Cyprus and the west and everywhere the same prices! I went to the beach in the picture last year on July 20, full season!”, someone else pointed out.
