The physicist who broke world records in previous tours returns to Romania: Brian Cox brings “Emergence” to Sala Palatului – September 22, 2026

Professor Brian Cox, one of the best-known popularizers of natural sciences and outer space, returns to Romania on September 22, 2026 at Sala Palatului with his new live show, part of the world tour “Emergence”.

After the phenomenal success of the show “Horizons”, held in front of almost half a million spectators around the world, Prof. Brian Cox launches a grandiose new production, which promises a spectacular experience at the border between science, technology and visual art. The previous tour set an absolute record and the new series of shows is already being announced as a new global success, with sold out performances in major cities around the world.

Guinness World Record for Largest Science Tour: Horizons – A 21st Century Space Odyssey.

For the fourth time, Professor Brian Cox has broken the world record for the most tickets sold for a science tour of all time. The “Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey” tour sold 369,297 tickets between August 2022 and May 2025, a feat officially certified by Guinness World Records.

The distinction was presented to him in New York, during a show on the North American stage of the world tour. Guinness representatives emphasized the extraordinary impact of its work: the ability to make science accessible, engaging and relevant to the general public around the world.

“Emergence” – a celebration of the complexity of the Universe

Emergence, Prof. Brian Cox’s new show, explores one of the most fascinating questions in modern science: how does complexity arise from simplicity?

Starting from a question posed in 1610 by Johannes Kepler – why do snowflakes always have six corners – the show traces the connection between the microscopic structure of matter and the grand cosmic structures. Snowflakes are made of molecules, molecules of atoms, atoms of fundamental particles – all governed by the laws of quantum mechanics. But how does this abstract simplicity transform into a delicate beauty and a Universe of astonishing complexity?

From the cosmic web of galaxies to the interconnected ecosystems of Earth and the structure of the human brain, “Emergence” is a visual and intellectual journey through the laws of nature that shape reality.

A spectacular production, at the highest technological level

The Emergence show is built as a total immersive experience, using some of the largest and most advanced LED screens available internationally, high-fidelity sound and a visual concept created in collaboration with scientists, musicians, filmmakers and graphic artists.

Professor Brian Cox states:

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating Emergence – it’s the most ambitious live show I’ve ever conceived. I’ve been very lucky to work with an amazing group of scientists, musicians, filmmakers and graphic artists to bring cosmology, biology, philosophy and history to the largest and most advanced LED screens available, with the best sound and lights we could find. I hope the show will be an immersive experience and leave everyone – whether loves science, music, history or simply contemplating the beauty of nature – something new to think about.”

The Emergence show on September 22, 2026, from the Palatului Hall, is part of a large-scale international tour and is announced as one of the most important cultural and scientific events of the year in Romania. The interest in the representation from Bucharest reconfirms the success of the previous tour and announces a new record number of spectators. Tickets are available on iabilet.ro.
