Since last week, the billboards depicting Nicolae Ciucă as a “soldier in the service of the country” and advertising the volume signed by him have disappeared from several counties of the country, PNL intending to use the advertising space for other purposes.

The billboards were taken down in several counties in the country since last week, a few days before the launch, writes G4Media.
Thus, the images of the “soldier” Ciucă disappeared from the A2 highway, from the surroundings of Constanta, Bucharest, Sibiu, but also around Timișoara.
According to some liberal sources, this decision was taken because there is a new stage in the electoral campaign, so instead of the panels with the book of the PNL leader, images of the candidates for the parliamentary elections will be displayed, but also of Nicolae Ciucă, but not in the position of “soldier”, but, this time, as a candidate for the Presidency of Romania.
The panels with the “soldier in the service of the country” Nicolae Ciucă appeared before the PNL leader confirmed that he intends to run in the presidential elections, and their frequency was so high that memes and jokes appeared on social media networks saying that these they serve as mileage markers, being a kind of unit of measure instead of a kilometer (eg: “I’m 10 bits away”).
According to a survey published by Snoop, in the period May-August PNL spent “from subsidies granted from the state budget” 510,000 euros per month on 400 street signs promoting Nicolae Ciucă’s book, this being considered a personal project financed by public money. In addition, PNL would have paid another 450,000 euros for the production and installation of the display throughout the country.
We remind you that, also, after a Recorder investigation regarding Nicolae Ciucă’s activity in Afghanistan, the image of the soldier and the word “soldier” in the title, as the PNL leader had been promoted until then, disappeared from the cover of the book.
The book launched on Sunday and which the liberal presidential candidate claims is biographical is now simply called “In the service of the country”.
After Sunday’s launch of the volume, it was also published online, on his politician’s website, where it can be downloaded for free, next to a donation button for a military association.
