The famous French actor Gérard Depardieu acknowledged before the court that he had touched a woman who accused of sexual assault, but claims that his gesture to take his hips had no sexual connotations. The trial started on Monday, March 24th.

“I grabbed her hips”said the actor on Tuesday, March 25, during his trial at the Paris Criminal Court. This statement contradicts his previous statements during the police interrogation, when he denied any physical contact with the 54 -year -old set, The Guardian says.
Depardieu is tried for the supposed sexual aggression of the scenograph, but also for another accusation, coming from a 34 -year -old assistant, during filming for the feature film Les Verts (green shutters), in Paris, in 2021. If found guilty, the actor risks a sentence of up to five years and a fine of 75,000 euros.
Amélie, the scenograph that filed the complaint, reported that the incident took place on September 10, 2021, in a building in the 16th in Paris, where he worked at the set of filming. She claims that Depardieu began to talk to her about the decor and complain about the heat, telling her: “It’s so hot, I can’t have an erection.” Later, the actor would have continued with obscene statements and tried to immobilize it.
“He grabbed me by the hips, pulled me to him and caught me between his legs”, Amélie said before the court. “I remember his eyes – big, red, angry, agitated. He had a crazy look, and the way he repeated that phrase … It was something terrifying.”
The scenograph pointed out that beyond the sexual nature of the incident, which scared it the most was “Salbăicia” to Depardieu. “He liked to see fear in my eyes. He was amused.”
In front of the judges, Depardieu rejected the accusations and claimed that he could not immobilize someone because of his weight of 150 kg. “You can check, with the belly I have, I could not do this,” he said.
However, the actor acknowledged that he has a vulgar language on the filming boards, but explained that it is a way “It relaxes the atmosphere.” Asked if he said the phrase “It’s so hot, I can’t have an erection,” he replied: “Maybe I said, why not?”
