A batch of cow’s milk cheese was withdrawn from sale in Carrefour stores, after the presence of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria was reported. It is a Gram-positive bacterium that causes listeriosis.

ANSVSA informs that Carrefour Romania has initiated the withdrawal from marketing of the product “Cow’s milk cheese”, in a 400-gram package, under the Carrefour Classic brand, as a result of detecting the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. It is about the products from batch 200 BT246, with a use-by date of 18.07.2025.

People in possession of products from the batch described above are advised not to consume it, but to destroy it or bring it back to the stores where they bought it. The counter value of the products will be returned, without the need to present the tax receipt“, informs ANSVSA.

People who have consumed this product and have a simple fever or accompanied by headache are advised to seek medical advice and report this consumption.

Pregnant women, people with low immunity and the elderly must pay special attention to these symptoms.

These symptoms may suggest listeriosis, a potentially serious disease with an incubation period of up to eight weeks, ANSVSA representatives show.
