The new provision is included in the updated form of the regulatory code in audiovisual, part of the secondary legislation of the CNA.
Also suffers FRF
According to article 110, paragraph 7, “it is forbidden to broadcast advertising for gambling in which personalities of public, cultural, scientific, sports or other people with notoriety in the online environment, who can encourage participation in such games,”.
The modification will become mandatory 90 days from the entry into force of the new code.
The decision has aroused reactions from the gambling industry. Among the contestants were companies such as Winbet and organizations such as the Romanian Football Federation, who proposed to keep the stars in social responsibility campaigns.
The FRF has a contract of bets-fortuna and uses employees in advertisements. This is the case of Daniel Pancu, the coach from the youth national team.
A arm was opposed
Also, Kaizergaming, the Federation of Gambling Organizers and the Romanian Transmedia Audit Office (arm) asked to eliminate the article. However, all the amendments were unanimously rejected by the CNA members.
Another modification entered in the audiovisual code concerns the protection of minors within the media services on request.
Thus, the audiovisual content that promotes gambling, including advertisements, will have to comply with the rules regarding the protection of minors, regardless of the platform through which it is distributed.
The initiative belongs to the USR, in front of the deputy Diana Stoica, and some NGOs, including “Save the Children” Romania.
