In the Vulturești commune of Argeș, the works on the first professional pre-university campus in a dual system in Romania in the rural environment began almost four months ago.

The future campus in the Vulturești commune of Argeș, located approximately 35 kilometers from Pitesti, will provide all education cycles: primary, secondary, high school and post-high school, including the teachers, who will teach according to a modern program to train specialists on the certifications requested by the agencies economical.
And the works started on September 18, 2024 are going at a very good pace, being on schedule.
“The terraces on which the future campus for dual education will be located are almost completed, and the next stage will be the pouring of the foundation for the retaining wall, having a total length of two kilometers. Pouring the foundation on the first terrace will start in about two weeks”states Mihaela Petrovan, president of the BookLand Association.
If there are no impediments during the works, the campus in Argeș will be finished by the end of this year.
The campus will have a total area of 7.2 hectares, made available free of charge by Vulturești City Hall, and will be equipped with all the necessary spaces and facilities for the more than 300 students who will study here, from laboratories, workshops , library and amphitheater to sports fields, relaxation areas, cafe, canteen, bakery, laundry, barbershop, mini-animal farm, orchard and a garden of vegetables.
The students who will study at the Vulturești campus will be selected according to their skills, they will receive scholarships, and at the end of their studies they will have a guaranteed job.
“Concretely, the campus in the Vulturești commune will function like a private school, but with zero fees. From the 9th grade, students will know which company they will work for. Each student will do a total of 2,000 hours of practice at employers”says Mihaela Petrovan, president of the BookLand Association.
The investment in the Vulturești campus is over 5 million euros, with the involvement of several private companies.
In the last six years, the BookLand Association has managed to renovate 80 rural schools and kindergartens
Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, the BookLand Association will start to design and build annual professional pre-university campuses in a dual system in each county, so that young people from rural areas can benefit in their own county from the facilities of modern campuses that will open numerous opportunities to be employed after graduation.
