Sylvester Stallone, a 78-year-old New Yorker who starred in the franchises “Rambo” and “Rocky”, inaugurated a gala for the president-elect, in mid-November, at his residence at Mar-a-Lago, in the state of Florida. Jon Voigt, 86, was awarded the National Medal of Arts during Donald Trump’s first term. Actor and director Mel Gibson, 69 years old, has been an assumed ultraconservative for decades, writes Agerpres.
“I am honored to announce that Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone will be special ambassadors in this major but very busy space that is Hollywood in California.”wrote on his social network, Truth Social, the Republican billionaire who will return to the White House on Monday.
The three actors, awarded many times by the film industry, together received 10 Oscar nominations, winning three such trophies.
“They will be my special emissaries, with the objective of making Hollywood – which has lost a lot in four years to foreign countries – a bigger, better and stronger place than it has ever been!”Donald Trump added.
Jon Voight, the father of superstar Angelina Jolie, made headlines around the world in 2020 after actor Frank Whaley accused him of slapping him during filming.
In a film industry with mostly pro-Democrat views, Jon Voight is known for being a longtime supporter of Donald Trump.
Mel Gibson, an actor of Irish origin who spent his childhood in Australia, was accused of anti-Semitism, racism, homophobia, alcoholism and domestic violence.
Sylvester Stallone, for whom Donald Trump is “the second George Washington“, he was accused of sexual assaults at the end of the 1980s, which the actor denied and which did not lead to the opening of legal proceedings.
“These three talented personalities will be my eyes and ears, and I will do everything they suggest. It will be about rediscovering, as for the United States of America, the Golden Age of Hollywood!”, added the Republican politician, who will become on January 20 the first president in the history of his country to be criminally convicted.
The future US president, aged 78, is not at all liked by many stars of the music industry and film, such as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen and George Clooney, who supported the Democratic vice-president Kamala Harris in the presidential elections.
